West Charleton dad Simon Mundy is still in a Plymouth hospital more than a week after suffering a serious head injury in a freak rugby accident.
The 30-year-old suffered a double fracture of the skull after being kneed in the side of the head during the finals of a rugby sevens tournament in Salcombe on Easter Sunday.
Simon, a former Kingsbridge RFC player, still cannot hear properly out of one ear and also suffers from double vision.
But according to his younger brother James, he is slowly recovering.
"He's lots better," said James. "He is fully coherent and he has been walking with assistance. All we can do now is see what progress he makes."
Simon, who works as a carpenter, lives with his wife, Amy, and their two-year-old daughter, Maggie, in West Charleton, near Kinsgbridge.
He has just been transferred from Plymouth's Derriford Hospital to the Mount Gould Hospital, which is also in Plymouth.
Mount Gould specialises in head injuries.
Everyone at 999West Charleton wishes Simon a very speedy recovery.
